We are seeking a self motivated professional with solid commercial property/casualty insurance underwriting experience looking to challenge themselves in the field of underwriting alternative risk transfer products. This individual would work within a team of motivated professionals to develop, underwrite, price and service various types of captive programs.
Specific responsibilities include:
Development and underwriting of captive programs that support long and short term business strategies that effectively achieve profit and growth objectives.
Working with Marketing, Actuarial, Finance, Operations and Claim personnel to develop and maintain relationships with various outside production sources.
Participation in the marketing and business planning of existing programs consistent with program growth and expansion objectives.
Development and communication of program underwriting guidelines, strategy, terms and conditions.
Oversight of captive program underwriting performance.
Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five years of Property & Casualty commercial lines underwriting work experience.
Group Captive experience a plus, but not required
Solid knowledge of technical underwriting.
Excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
Strong computer skills, e.g., Excel - pivot tables, spreadsheet development using formulae.
Strong collaboration and relationship building ability.
Strong negotiating skills; able to solicit win-win results.
Effective, articulate and professional communication and presentation skills.
Direct client contact experience required
Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented; able to make sound business decisions and take initiative.
Good leadership skills.
Professional designations, e.g., CPCU, ARe, ARM nice to have but not necessary.
