Plans at an operational level and manages the effective use of resources. Directs assigned applications systems analysis staff to develop, implement and/or maintain a medium system or multiple smaller systems and/or assigned project(s).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Systems Analysts to develop functional and data requirements for Business Intelligence initiatives and support for new and existing Business Intelligence applications including communication, rollout and training.
- Has a thorough understanding of staff responsibilities, abilities and development and training needs
- Accountable for directing staff in order to achieve deliverables. Increase organizations effectiveness and strategic capabilities through effective management of own performance and performance of direct reports
- Manages multiple information systems and/or projects across Personal Insurance portfolios
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships between business owners and IT team; defining business technical requirements; reviewing project artifacts and project estimates.
- Candidate needs to have a detailed understanding of business intelligence (BI) tools and technologies to collect, evaluate and analyze management information.
- Must have a solid understanding of how to develop technical requirements and specifications and carry out project tasks to develop, design, automate, prepare and test reports and dashboards.
- Results driven individual oriented towards exceeding Business Partner expectations in an environment with competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Has the ability to proactively communicate at multiple levels from executive to individual contributor
- Assist business owners and project managers in defining project estimates for reporting efforts and other initiatives that are realistic, timely, meet business needs and budget constraints.
- Manages to the operational plan for assigned business systems and/or projects
- Oversees the development of business user specifications into cost-effective applications systems specifications
- Responsible for resource/staffing plans, work priorities and project management within established budget objectives
- Provides the division and business areas management with timely and accurate information regarding the performance of the assigned system(s)
- Responsible for all aspects of human resource management of staff
Work Experience
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of Property &Casualty products and Financial Metrics
- 5+ years of experience working with data management systems and information delivery tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and individuals including all aspects of performance management
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience in managing business analysts and in leading the development of systems requirements for large, complex project/program
- Proven track record working in matrix organization

- Has thorough working knowledge of the business that the assigned systems are supporting.
- Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis.
- Has thorough understanding of staff responsibilities, abilities and development needs
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of application systems analysis and of the systems area supporting the business functions
- Has a broad understanding of the development methodology for MI driven projects
- Has working knowledge or better of the following: ETL Tools, Data Warehousing concepts, Business Intelligence tools and reporting, data modeling and use cases
