Strategic Planning, Prioritization and Communication:
Identify key areas for focus across all of BI Operations (in close alignment with the business strategy), to help the Leadership team to achieve the BI Operations Vision over time
Organize and facilitate recurring meetings and working sessions with BI Operations leadership to gain periodic insights, validate ideas, clarify rumors and provide feedback from interaction with Enterprise
Develop prioritization criteria and leverage leadership inputs to create strategic plans for implementation; assign ownership and drive accountability
Work closely with the `Directors of Strategy- that report to each of the BI Operations Leaders to stay closely informed on each area and ensure alignment
Create consistent presentation approaches and templates to help BI Operations Leadership to quickly organize around updates and communication to various constituent groups - such as Senior Operations Leadership, Business Unit Leadership, Cross-Enterprise Communication, Field Leadership, etc.
Lead the insightful guidance and consolidation of individual BI Operations Leadership inputs for this communication, and develop high impact and succinct storylines based on current need and audience
Identify ways of representing Operations performance data that makes the information meaningful to the business and to the rest of the enterprise (e.g., convert capacity lift into a meaningful metric for business such as `ability to handle X additional submissions-, etc.)
Organize a reliable and user-friendly system of information sharing across BI Operations Leadership team, that helps each one to represent all the work going on in BI Operations with adequate familiarity
Ideate and create high impact communication mechanisms to reach a wider audience base, over time
Relationship Management (BUs, Enterprise):
Consistently work with business partners (e.g., MM Program Management Office, etc.), and functional areas (Product, Actuarial, IT, MI, etc.) to gain clear alignment and clarify ownership for current and future initiatives
Raise potential issues in a timely manner, and bring the appropriate constituent groups to the table to discuss and resolve them
Identify areas of synergy across groups, and arrange appropriate points of contact/meetings
Change Management Oversight:
Work with the Business Readiness and Field Communications team(s) to analyze each initiative, determine constituent groups being affected in varying degrees, identify impact of change to the most tangible extent possible, and identify means of preparing each group for the change
Stay closely coordinated with the business strategic program office to assess impact of initiatives to the field and other parts of the Operations organization; and synchronize change management approaches
Oversee communication development and deployment using the most appropriate channels and messages
Stay abreast of internally developed and available Change Management curricula and ELOD driven initiatives
Financial Analysis and Budget Review:
Gather all budget related information in a systematic format from BI Operations Leadership team, organize and query it to ensure comprehensiveness and internal consistency
Develop a meaningful format to present the information in a consistent way across the BI Operations Leadership
Work closely with BI Operations Finance to review BI Operations financials, budgets and plans to determine how they could be better optimized
Ensure that financials are consistent between Operations and the Business
Input for MI Reporting and Analysis:
Provide input to BI Operations MI and help create relevant structures and representations of Operations performance (the Shared Services group will remain accountable for the delivery of MI). This will include:
Pushing towards better alignment of the AE and AM metrics and scorecards
Developing more insightful ways to present Operating Reviews where possible
Creating a simple and intuitive template for BI Operations Leadership to represent their periodic updates to senior leadership, in a systematic and consistent manner
Alignment with Human Resources:
Work closely with BI Operations HR to identify resource needs and gaps. This will include:
Keeping HR closely informed of organization related feedback, ideas and insights that could require action - creation of training programs, etc.
Identifying ways to improve and optimize organization design and reporting structures
Key Skill-set Requirements:
Strong strategic and analytical bent of mind.
Ability to build trust with business partners across organizational boundaries.
Experience with influencing and initiating cultural change, facilitating and enhancing performance within a cross functional environment.
Experience with change management.
Extensive Customer Service/ Operations experience.
Superior oral and written communication skills.
Proven results-oriented behavior supported by an entrepreneurial mind-set.
Financial acumen and comfort with analytical software such as Excel, Access etc.
Intellectual horsepower, supported by a continual desire to keep abreast of trends in the industry and beyond.
Proven track record in leading initiatives and achieving results, and experience in process improvement.
Qualifications:
Masters degree in business strongly preferred, with a Bachelors in finance, engineering or related field.
