SUMMARY:
Reports to Senior Project Director. Manage and direct high profile business process management projects to influence aspects of the business that relate to operational efficiency and effectiveness. Direct the day-to-day activities of assigned process engineering projects, focusing on identifying opportunities to improve productivity, decrease costs, increase available capacity, improve accuracy and timeliness, change behaviors, redesign roles and functions, and improve operational controls. Provide business process consulting, generate new ideas, convince senior management of their value, and assist in their implementation to achieve recommended benefits. Consult with senior management on division wide issues.

At this senior level, an incumbent will assist or lead project teams addressing complex issues which can have long term, broad impact.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Provide process engineering services for Claim Services in order to improve overall business performance by identifying impediments to effective and efficient operation performance and by introducing changes in business operational processes and organizational behaviors that have a positive impact on bottom line results. Traveler's Claim Services Department supports commercial and personal property and casualty insurance products.
Consult with senior management regarding implementation of study recommendations and the approaches to be taken in executing change to the business operation. Create and submit periodic status updates of current projects to process engineering Director and clients. Provide input on strategic organizational initiatives and impact on organizational effectiveness.
Provide direction and consultation to process engineers for assigned projects.
EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY:
Four year college degree in a business oriented discipline.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of business process management /improvement methods and technologies
Project management skills
Thorough knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines products and services
Solid management and organization skills
Proven analytic skills
Mathematics / Statistics skills
Proficient at using Microsoft desktop tools
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Carefully listens to customer needs to identify issues and develop appropriate solutions
Makes effective and persuasive oral and written presentations
Interacts effectively with all levels of management and non-management staff
Facilitates large groups of people to develop / introduce new ideas
Strong sales and negotiation skills
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient at using Microsoft desktop tools.
