Summary:

Provide financial and marketing support to assigned PL Field Sales region(s). Work with RVP's, Channel CFO, and agency managers to help set and achieve targeted PL business results.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop overall regional strategic business plan in collaboration with RVP. Quantify, model, and evaluate strategic direction for the region.

Focus on sales activity and translate into overall financial impact (with focus on top-line result and direct expense components).

Partner with product to develop overall financial plan for the region.

Development, maintenance and promotion of regional Key Business Metrics

Conduct post audits on regional marketing, underwriting, and pricing programs to determine financial impact on region's business results, and identify opportunities for program improvements.

Interpret and communicate Controllable Income at countrywide, regional and individual sales staff levels. Monitor to ensure accuracy, assess impact, and identify opportunities for improving business results.

Access other management information from various systems, format and analyze.

Interpret and present information to necessary parties. Recommend action steps or strategies.

Assist in developing and monitoring regional budget, including production, expenses and compensation program administration (FBVC, Elite, Base commission exceptions, issue resolution, etc). Analyze and identify opportunities for improving expenses.

Analyze financials for business activities (e.g., book/block transfers,) with agencies and other parties. Make appropriate recommendations and negotiate for such elements of the deal as agency compensation.

Assist Channel CFO in identifying, analyzing, preparing recommendations for, and negotiating regional and national business opportunities (e.g., agency deals, etc.).

Create transparency around performance and ensure behaviors match desired philosophy. Coach RSD and SE staff around plan gaps through discussion and analytic reviews

Provide meaningful metrics to evaluate distribution system performance for the region.

Translate those metrics into meaningful conversation and actionable steps

Education/Work Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years Personal Lines business experience.

Ability to clearly present ideas and concepts (orally and written) to management, regional staff, customers, other stakeholders and influence outcomes.

Ability to effectively negotiate with business partners while building/maintaining long-term relationships.

Other

Business/Technical Knowledge: Strong PL product knowledge

Solid understanding of the Property-Casualty business, Personal Lines and the Independent Agency System

Solid understanding of insurance business financials

Ability to quantify financial impact of various activities

Strong PC and spreadsheet skills

Knowledge of PL systems

Familiarity with other distribution systems

Analytic-Problem Solving

Ability to analyze multiple sources of information and develop alternative solutions.

Obtain multiple assessments of a situation, review facts, weigh options and recommend most advantageous course of action to influence business results.

Be systematic in identifying problems, use tools to define problems and evaluate alternative solutions.

Planning/Prioritizing/Project Management:

Ability to plan and manage a project through implementation, involving coordination with various other business units.

Provide regional staff with additional guidance on strategic direction of the region and assist in motivating staff toward desired business results.

Manage multiple projects/tasks a once for a timely and quality end product.
