Scope
The Senior Catastrophe Data Analyst is a member of a team that assesses the corporation's exposure to catastrophic risk, such as hurricane, earthquake, and terrorism. The assessment of CAT Risk is highly dependent on data quality. This position is responsible for the integrity of the data applied in the CAT modeling process and works with the business units and Information Intelligence Systems to improve accuracy, processes and controls.

Job Components
-Accountable for insuring that all enterprise wide organizations (Business Insurance, Financial, Professional & International Insurance and Personal Insurance) are accurately reporting their catastrophe exposures in relation to the 1.) Coverages and financial structure contained in insurance contracts 2.) Risk factors applied to assess CAT Risk.
-Collaborate with members of enterprise wide Information Intelligence Systems in maintaining accurate data flow from business unit policy issuance systems. Develop data requirements and specifications that meet the needs of the CAT modeling systems.
-Consult and influence business partners on the best way for underwriting and business intelligence systems to capture and provide accurate exposure data, according to the requirements of the CAT modeling systems and their impact on modeled results.
-Work closely with the businesses to stay current with all changes and modifications that impact CAT modeling.
-Apply statistical modeling techniques to develop data quality profiles, scorecards and ratings for assurance metrics.
-Work with manager to establish standards for data controls and metrics and influence business units to establish, enhance and monitor their CAT data controls.

Qualifications
-Bachelor degree with major in math, statistics, business technology, actuarial science, finance, or economics preferred or related equivalent experience.
-Strong working knowledge of the technical environments in which systems operate and data flow within the enterprise.
-Working knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines Products (coverage forms); reinsurance and underwriting that represent the exposures being modeled.
-Strong desktop skills including Microsoft Access and Excel.
-Basic knowledge of Catastrophe Probabilistic Models.
-Prior business experience 3-5 years, in insurance product development, systems, actuarial, CAT modeling or related field.
