Bond & Financial Products (B & FP) is seeking a senior leader to work directly with the senior management team to build a world-class business intelligence organization. This individual will drive the strategic vision to leverage data, information, foundational analytics as well as analytic tools/applications for optimal business processing and critical decision making. Integral to this will be leading the design and development of a next generation business intelligence data warehouse for B&FP.
This role will be accountable for building, leading, managing, mentoring, and developing the teams responsible for creating an information advantage for the B & FP organization with a focus on business strategy and analysis, data and program management and information delivery. This role will also be the key B&FP point person to coordinate with the Enterprise Business Intelligence and Analytics (EBIA) group.
This individual will develop an annual strategic Management Information plan, including business initiatives, analytic tools, and technical investments. Working closely with key partners including MI IT, Product, Actuarial and Finance, this person will be accountable not only for thought leadership but also for the delivery of information and analytic tools and applications to B&FP's business customers.
Additional Key Accountabilities to include:
-Establish and implement a comprehensive integrated Management Information strategy
-Develop and drive a culture by which information is integral to decision making
-Build technical expertise through hiring key resources and developing skills of existing team
-Establish standards for technology and business processes within the MI organization
-Drive development and maintenance of business intelligence best practices
-Oversee data management and data governance within B&FP
-Ensure alignment with enterprise information and analytic application strategy efforts
-Serve as the overall liaison with business sponsors and executives
-Create and maintain a proactive communications culture
-Facilitate the prioritization of projects and requirements among competing business interests
-Identify, communicate and mitigate project risks to stakeholders, and ensure teams have appropriate support to meet goals
-Align data warehousing, database, and other information technology projects with overall business strategies
-Secure and maintain funding for key initiatives and measure return on investment
Experience and Requirements:
-10+ years experience in leading business intelligence and data warehousing efforts
-10+ years of demonstrated leadership in complex/matrix environments
-Deep understanding and appreciation for both business and technology components of information strategy
-Demonstrated success in managing multiple, complex and corporate-wide projects
-Financial services industry experience strongly desired
-Strong overall understanding of the various analytical and reporting processes including operational reporting, predictive modeling, financial analysis, and data mining.
-Demonstrated strong decision making skills - strategic and critical thinking ability
-Concise and persuasive oral and written communication skills
-Solid analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple critical projects
-Experience in developing working relationships with top business and technical executives
-Bachelor's degree required and MBA or Master's Degree preferred
-Success in the role will require the development of a vision; a plan for realizing the vision; stakeholder buy-in; and plan execution.
