Position Summary:
This is a highly visible role representing Discover Re in the Western Region. The individual will partner with the regional office to ensure effective marketing, planning and execution resulting in the retention, growth and profitability of the Discover Re book of business. Position becomes available immediately.
Responsibilities Include:
Identify, develop, sell and service complex casualty insurance transactions. Develop new business opportunities; manage an existing renewal book of unbundled national account business. Establish and build strong relationships with brokers, insureds and facultative reinsurers. Work collaboratively and foster teamwork among peers and others, including Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control, Actuarial, Credit and Finance, Operations and Premium Audit. Extensive travel throughout the Western Region.
Qualifications and Experience required:
Bachelors Degree or better with 7+ years of work experience within the property/casualty insurance industry; Exceptional communicator; Solid analytic, problem solving and organizational skills;
A solid foundation in underwriting national accounts business is viewed very favorably
