Purpose

Qualifications, Requisite Skills, and Competencies

- Educational Background: Minimum 4-year college degree in related field. Prefer college degree with additional law enforcement, insurance claim or research focused experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Conduct research and predictive modeling.
Interpret data and identify correlations using both univariate and multivariate analysis.
Participate in discussions regarding underwriting strategy.
Communicate results and their implications to business centers.
Prepare responses to inquiries from business areas.
Oversee programming in SAS, VBA, Excel, Access or company software.
Participate in and/or is responsible for advanced projects.
Present findings to underwriting and actuarial management.
Provide assistance and supervision to less experienced staff.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Generally 5 to 7 years of research, modeling or actuarial experience
Demonstrated ability in statistical modeling and data mining techniques (GLM, clustering, decision trees, etc)
Strong understanding of insurance related modeling and data
Strong project management skills
Knowledge of insurance products and operations
Basic understanding of accounting principles and solid understanding of financial reporting
Basic understanding of regulatory environment

CERTIFICATES/DEGREES:
College degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, actuarial science or equivalent
Advanced degree in statistics (or related) or professional actuarial designation a plus

JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst offers expert analysis and support for the Unica - Affinium Suite of applications. This role develops, validates, and launches e-mail campaigns based on requirements and needs set by the business lines. The Sr. Business Systems Analyst works closely with developers, designers, vendors, and marketing customers across the enterprise to coordinate campaign requirements and act as a subject matter expert on all technical and business-related issues. This role will also assist in the testing, problem solving/troubleshooting, maintenance and enhancement of department/division systems. These responsibilities require a high attention to detail and minimal supervision.

The Travelers- Select organization is currently engaged in a large scale multi-year effort to provide strategic, agile technology capabilities to our agents, insureds, and business partners. We are searching for a motivated, energetic Project Director to be the primary point of accountability to business partners and other parties for the management and implementation of medium to large size projects or small to medium sized programs that support achievement of complex business and organizational objectives.

The Project Director works with minimal supervision and is responsible for applying advanced Project Management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems. You will be expected to work within defined parameters, while flexibly applying proven Project Management methodologies in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. This position controls planning and execution of the projects' or program's activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met.

Education/Work Experience Level

Typically possess five to seven years of Project Management or equivalent experience in the total Project life cycle with increasing levels of complexity.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years experience with large business and IT projects. Solid experience with strategic and workforce planning, knowledge of the P&C business, and daily interactions with senior leadership of an organization.
