Scope
The Senior Catastrophe Data Analyst is a member of a team that assesses the corporation's exposure to catastrophic risk, such as hurricane, earthquake, and terrorism. The assessment of CAT Risk is highly dependent on data quality. This position is responsible for the integrity of the data applied in the CAT modeling process and works with the business units and Information Intelligence Systems to improve accuracy, processes and controls.

Job Components
-Accountable for insuring that all enterprise wide organizations (Business Insurance, Financial, Professional & International Insurance and Personal Insurance) are accurately reporting their catastrophe exposures in relation to the 1.) Coverages and financial structure contained in insurance contracts 2.) Risk factors applied to assess CAT Risk.
-Collaborate with members of enterprise wide Information Intelligence Systems in maintaining accurate data flow from business unit policy issuance systems. Develop data requirements and specifications that meet the needs of the CAT modeling systems.

The CMI Warehouse project is a multi year, multi phase development effort that will build the information foundation to support numerous informational and analytical capabilities.

The CMI Business Production team is a business team responsible for the operational support of the CMI warehouse. The CMI Warehouse Production Lead position is a leadership role responsible for the daily direction of the CMI Business Production team. This leadership role reports to the 2nd VP of Shared Business Intelligence and works closely with our CMI Development teams, IT teams and VP of Shared Business Intelligence Data Management.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The focus of this position will be to support the business community-s analytic needs, specifically making sure they understand how to leverage the potential of the CMI Warehouse. Additionally, this position will lead a team responsible for production and enhancements of the CMI Warehouse. The CMI Business Production team responsibilities will grow as more and more deliverables move from development to production. This position will:

- Work with business/MI community to understand how CMI Warehouse can satisfy their current and future business intelligence needs.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years background as a data analyst, business analyst, management information analyst or equivalent position in the insurance industry required.
- Exposure or familiarity with commercial insurance, both claim and policy data is desired but not required.
- Exposure or familiarity legacy Travelers and/or St. Paul claim or management information systems or data is desired but not required.
- Experience with data warehouse structures, initiatives and terminology desired
- Demonstrated experience with SQL, Access or similar software
- Management experience desired but not required.

SUMMARY:
This position offers an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join a progressive organization responsible for supporting the future analytic needs within the Business Insurance division. The data to support these growing analytic needs will be stored in the Commercial Management Information (CMI) Warehouse. The CMI Warehouse project is a multi year, multi phase development effort that will build the information foundation to support numerous informational and analytical capabilities.

The CMI Business Production team is a business team responsible for the operational support of the CMI warehouse. This team is responsible for guaranteeing the business community properly understands how to harness the power of the data contained within the warehouse. This team serves as data subject matter experts and is responsible for partnering with IT to ensure the success of our monthly production versions. The ratemaking database, which collects data for actuarial analysis, is supported by this team.

The CMI Warehouse Production Lead position is a leadership role responsible for the daily direction of the CMI Business Production team. This leadership role reports to the 2nd VP of Shared Business Intelligence and works closely with our CMI Development teams, IT teams and VP of Shared Business Intelligence Data Management.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The focus of this position will be to support the business community-s analytic needs, specifically making sure they understand how to leverage the potential of the CMI Warehouse. Additionally, this position will lead a team responsible for production and enhancements of the CMI Warehouse. The CMI Business Production team responsibilities will grow as more and more deliverables move from development to production. This position will:

- Work with business/MI community to understand how CMI Warehouse can satisfy their current and future business intelligence needs.
- Work with business and IT to create and maintain CMI Warehouse data training and user documentation libraries.
- Drive specifications and issue resolution in support of monthly production versions. Partner with IT in the analysis and design of solutions to ensure requirements are met.
- Identify, analyze and/or resolve CMI Warehouse related data issues.
- Partner with IT QA group in the signoff of deliverables.
- Participate in monitoring controls for ongoing data loads into the warehouse.
- Manage Ratemaking database production and enhancement responsibilities.
